Mike Oransky is a respected leader in racquet sports, with a career that spans collegiate and professional tennis, elite coaching, and national-level pickleball competition. Known for his dedication to athlete development and community involvement, he has spent decades helping players improve their skills, confidence, and love for the game.
Mike played college tennis at Louisiana State University, where he reached the number one position in both singles and doubles and earned All-SEC honors for his performance. He later competed professionally on the ATP tour, earning world rankings in both singles and doubles.
As a coach and leader, Mike founded the Gainesville Tennis Academy in partnership with the City of Gainesville and has coached for more than 35 years. During that time, he has led numerous USTA and league teams to championships and titles, mentored over 50 athletes who advanced to Division I college tennis, and coached state and national champions, including an NCAA champion and a US Open Mixed Doubles champion.
In pickleball, Mike has established himself as a high-level competitor and coach. He is a three-time Senior National 60+ Pickleball Champion, a two-time U.S. Senior Pickleball National Champion, and continues to compete at a high level with a DUPR rating of 5.0.
He holds top-level certifications from the Racquet Sports Professional Association (RSPA), the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR), and is a certified DUPR coach.
